APPIC MATCH NEWS
Following is Match registration information for internship programs
and applicants:
INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS: Beginning this year, Match registration
materials for internship programs are being sent to most sites by
e-mail (as a PDF file attachment) rather than by regular mail. Match
registration materials have now been e-mailed to Training Directors
of all APPIC-member internship programs, as well as to non-APPIC
member programs that are eligible to participate in the 2009 Match
and either participated in the 2008 Match or have expressed an
interest in participating in the 2009 Match.
If you are an internship Training Director and have not received your
registration information via e-mail, please check your e-mail
program's "spam" or "junk mail" folder to see if the e-mail was
directed there. If the e-mail could not be delivered to you for any
reason, a registration packet may have already been sent to you by
regular mail. If you did not receive the information by e-mail,
contact NMS directly at (416) 977-3431 to determine how the
information was sent to you (i.e. by regular mail or e-mail, and to
what e-mail address). You can request that NMS send you another set
of registration materials, if necessary.
APPLICANTS: Match registration information and Agreement forms for
applicants are now available for download directly from the Matching
Program web site at:
http://www.natmatch.com/psychint
(Click on "Applicant Registration" on the left side of the screen)
Please review the information available on the Matching Program web
site, including the Schedule of Dates, APPIC Match Policies, and
other information describing the operation of the Match. You may
download and print the Applicant Agreement and registration
instructions directly from the web site. To register for the Match,
you must send one copy of the Applicant Agreement with the
appropriate registration fee to NMS.
The recommended registration date for applicants is December 1, 2008.
However, it is generally wise to register much earlier so that you
receive your Applicant Code Number in time to include it on your
APPIC Application for Psychology Internships (AAPI), as many sites
have application deadlines in November (please note that if you don't
receive your Applicant Code Number in time to include it on your
AAPI, it's not a problem -- there will be plenty of opportunities
later in the process to provide that number to internship sites).
Please remember that the Match registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE
and is not transferable to future Matches.
