Check out this news break from EurekAlert Science News -- Click Here
A startling archaeological discovery this summer changes our understanding of human history. While, up until now, scholars have largely held that man’s first rituals were carried out over 40, 000 years ago in Europe, it now appears that they were wrong about both the time and place.
Associate Professor Sheila Coulson, from the University of Oslo, can now show that modern humans, Homo sapiens, have performed advanced rituals in Africa for 70,000 years. She has, in other words, discovered mankind’s oldest known ritual.

...with BibMe, a free, online bibliography creater. Enter in books by title/ISBN, films, newspapers, magazines, journals, anything! BibMe stores your entries, then offers you the option of downloading your bibliography to a document (appropriately styled with a page heading, too!). Works beautifully for books and films -- spotty luck with Jungian and other specialized journals, but you can always supplement BibMe's bibliography by using the KnightCite citation generator.

John Donne wrote "...never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee" (Meditation 17, Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions, 1624). It was mercilessly swiped by Hemingway in 1940. While issues of Copyright and Plagiarism can surely sound the death knell for an academic career, so can invisibility. Our students are encouraged to become involved in the greater academic community through publishing and conference presentation, thereby enriching their professional lives. For basic information on publishing in scholarly journals, check out Publish, Not Perish, an online tutorial to help you get started -- it's free, don't panic.
Keep your channels tuned in to this blog for entries on publishing/presenting opportunities. You can check out our last CFP (Calls for Papers) announcement by clicking here.
Literary note: Contrary to popular thought, these famous lines of Donne's are not a poem, but prose.
