Lori Pye: Mythologcial Studies (2002)
Lori Pye Ph.D. (2002 graduate from Mythological Studies) is adjunct faculty in the Clinical and Counseling programs at Pacifica Graduate Institute and teaches Ecopsychology at Santa Barbara City College. Lori's background includes executive management for international marine conservation organizations, including Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society, as well as working with coalitions in Latin America to develop the Eastern Tropical Pacific Seascape Corridor with the Ministers of the Environment from Costa Rica, Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador and NGOs such as Conservation International and The Darwin Foundation.<p/>
Lori currently serves as the Executive Director for the Foundation for Mythological Studies (FMS), who sponsored the Nature and Human Nature Conference with co-sponsors Pacifica Graduate Institute and Spring Journal in March, 2007. Additionally, Lori is assisting in the launch of Santa Barbara City College Sustainability Center.
Lori has presented papers on the depth psychological perspective on environmentalism at SBCC Ecopsychology Series and the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education at the University of Arizona. She is presently writing a book, Nature and Human Nature: A Co-Responsive Relationship.
