Pacifica is eager to support Alumni and Student Regional Groups. We are available to assist volunteer coordinators in creating/updating mail/or email lists to facilitate alumni, students, and Pacifica faculty getting together in your area. Additionally, tucked into the Alumni Affairs budget is a small piggy bank to help with postage, facility fees, and refreshments for a select number of events.

Regional groups are a great way to keep those the important conversation that happen in the Academic and Public Programs going. Each region and coordinator will decide how often to get together and for what sort of events. Possibly you want a Dream group in your area, or a dissertation/thesis mentoring program. It may be that you are aware of a Pacifica faculty member coming to your area that you’d like to feature for an evening or afternoon event. Perhaps you have a group of writers that want to come together, or someone who wants to present a dissertation and discuss it. Conference or presentation on “how to start a practice” in your state is of great value, as is formulating a networking group to promote professional presenters.

What do you need to do be considered as a Regional Group volunteer coordinator? Please send a letter letting us know you are interested in creating and facilitating al group. Introduce yourself and share your ideas with us: hopes, dreams, and wishes for your vicinity. Include the city(s), state name(s), or zip code(s) for the area you would like to include in your region, and let’s talk.
