Myth, Image, and Contemporary Culture

  • Name the myths, symbols, images breaking through culture today ie:


    • Nature – myth of a new planet earth
    • Return of the Divine Feminine
  • Establish two new foci for Pacifica: Mythological Studies with emphasis on Depth Psychology focusing on


    • Media
    • Creative arts

  • Identify the myth-makers and bring that into education


    • Courses that deepen/influence a move from the surface to the depths AND keep the tension of the opposites. Courses to include


      • screenplay
      • writing
      • visual arts
      • film – shorts
      • acting


    • Hire faculty than can teach these courses
    • Develop a place for mythological education for children (elementary, secondary, and high school)
  • Identity and establish the daily community rituals of myth-making within the context of Pacifica making it a healing sanctuary for the community


    • Amphitheater
    • Healing sanctuary
    • Gallery to exhibit student work
    • Labyrinth
    • Television show
